Internet search engine optimization really is a fairly simple process. However it should be seen as a long term process and not something that you do once and then you get organic search engine traffic overnight. Depending on the level of competition for the keywords you are targeting, it can take at least a few months to even over a year to see yourself rank highly for your chosen keywords. Thus, if you are new to internet marketing, it is highly recommended that you start with keywords that have little competition but high monthly searches. Once you have selected your main keyword for your site, it is a good idea to have the keyword be part of your domain name. If your keyword is the domain name then that is ideal. When you create your site’s homepage make sure your main keyword is in the title tag, description and keyword meta tags. Also include your keyword in an H1 and H2 header tag in the body of your page. In addition you can bold your keyword once in the body also. When creating the other pages of your site, it is a good idea to create them based on low competition terms also. It is important to get backlinks to your site with your keyword in the anchor text. You can do reciprocal linking, writing articles and submitting to free directories to get these backlinks.
